Forgiveness

Forgiveness is such a touchy topic for many people. Some feel that they are not to blame and that they do not need to offer any type of forgiveness the situation because their feeling of hurt is so deep, I once was a member of this club. Some feel that they are owed forgiveness and wait for it from others. Some do not know how to give it or find it.

The key to forgiveness is that it begins with you. It begins with self examination and self reflection. It begins with a commitment to letting go of the past, no matter how painful that may be and living in the present. It is a commitment to yourself that you want to be happy and enjoy your life in the now!  How much of the baggage that you are carrying around is because you have been hurt by someone or a situation and you just can’t let go? How often do you think about that situation and it just seems to get bigger and bigger until it just consumes your life or it seems that way?  How much time do you spend deflecting your thoughts to something else in avoidance?

By choosing forgiveness, you send several messages to the universe. First and foremost, you send the message that you choose to move out of the past and into the present. This can help you to feel more grounded. Second, you choose to be in your power, you are no longer giving your power away to anyone else. When you start to take back your power you may feel more confident with your overall self. Third you choose change, you no longer want to attract similar circumstances to your environment. The law of attraction states that like attracts like so you may notice that your overall life circumstances shift. Fourth, you are opening your heart chakra. Once the heart chakra is open additional healing can begin.

So how do you go about this task of forgiveness?

Forgiveness is not a quick process, it can take weeks, months or years to process depending on what you are letting go of. Be kind to yourself and know that you are doing your best to better yourself. Take some time for yourself, clear your head and come to center. In quiet meditation ask Spirit to assist you with releasing all that no longer serves you. Call upon your angels to show you where to begin. You may also call upon Archangel Zadkiel for assistance as he is the Archangel of Forgiveness and Compassion. Many times there are repressed feelings that the inner child is still processing. You may be given many at once or only one at a time. When you have decided what you need to work on, begin to slowly process, one issue at a time through self examination and self reflection. Ask yourself questions which get you thinking about why you truly have the feelings that you have. What role do you play in your feelings?  Write and burn, cry, scream, exercise, complete whatever process helps to achieve the release for you. You may also benefit from energetic healing such as reiki, intuitive healings or past life regression sessions. Whatever path you choose, know that the release coming as a result of your forgiveness work is to your ultimate benefit.
